Adam was the first man. He was created out of the soil by God in
God's own likeness. God set him in the Garden of Eden and commanded
him not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
However, after urging from Eve, Adam did this and as a result the two
of them were banished from the garden. After this, Adam and Eve had
many children and did as God has commanded: "Be fruitful and
multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish
of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing
that moves on the earth."
Genesis 2:7 - And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
